Chef Shehab – Honoring Egypt’s Culinary Legacy at Khufu’s Kitchen

 

As Head Chef of Khufu’s Kitchen, Chef Shehab has been at the forefront of a culinary movement celebrating the depth, flavor, and authenticity of Egyptian cuisine. Since the restaurant’s official opening in 2021, Khufu’s Kitchen has garnered critical acclaim, earning numerous awards that reflect the team’s unwavering commitment to preserving the country’s rich gastronomic heritage.

 

Operating in one of the region’s most dynamic culinary environments, Chef Shehab and his team serve between 440 and 550 guests daily, navigating the demands of high-volume fine dining while maintaining excellence in every dish.

 

In 2023, the restaurant achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first Egyptian restaurant to receive the “Lost Gem” award—a recognition closely tied to Chef Shehab’s rise to the semi-finals of Top Chef: The Arab World. This marked a turning point, placing both the chef and the restaurant firmly on the international map.

 

Further accolades followed. Khufu’s Kitchen was named Best Restaurant in Egypt in both 2023 and 2024, and earned high honors in the Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants, ranking 5th in 2023 and 4th in 2024.

 

For Chef Shehab, these achievements are not only professional milestones—they are a tribute to a hardworking, passionate team and a cuisine that continues to inspire and evolve.
