Maroun Chedid is a celebrated Lebanese chef, restaurateur and culinary entrepreneur whose cooking brings together the richness of Lebanese heritage and the flavours of the Mediterranean. Raised in Saghbine, in Lebanon’s fertile West Bekaa region, he developed an early appreciation for seasonal produce, local ingredients and the connection between food and the land.
With more than three decades of culinary experience, Chedid combines a respect for tradition with a contemporary approach to flavour and presentation. Through his signature restaurant concept, Ritage, he expresses this philosophy in Mediterranean cuisine shaped by his Lebanese roots and international experience.
Beyond the restaurant kitchen, his work encompasses culinary consulting, bespoke catering and education through the Maroun Chedid Cooking Academy. He also created Georgette, a range of Mediterranean pantry products inspired by his mother and the produce of his homeland.
Known to audiences across the Middle East through his role as a judge on MBC’s Top Chef, Chedid shares his expertise with a new generation of culinary talent, bringing warmth, personality and a passion for Lebanese gastronomy to his work.
